Our Ballet classes

Our ‘Twirling Tots’ Classes are for children aged 18 months to roughly 2.5 years depending on the individual child. These classes are both engaging and fun but structured in a way to slowly introduce the magical world of ballet. Discovering a different make-believe journey each week such as: visiting the zoo; going to the circus; flying to the moon and attending the Princess’s ball. These adventures enhance the child’s creativity and keep their imagination alive. We believe that attending these classes is also a very effective way to grow a child’s confidence and encourage basic life lessons such as discipline, respect, concentration and coordination.

Our ‘Pre-School ballet’ classes are structured in a very similar way to our ‘Twirling Tots’ classes but we slowly begin to introduce simple ballet exercises as well as the fun imaginative element still remaining.

Here at Precision Dance we offer Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) classes for children aged 4 and above at both our afternoon venue – Brown and Green Life and weekend venue – St Johns C of E church. These classes will follow the RAD syllabus and will be both engaging and stimulating for the students.

The RAD syllabus is an internationally recognised portfolio of examinations designed to encourage, motivate and reward students of all ages. Although exams are not for everyone, and we will not force any student into taking part should they not wish, we strongly believe it’s an exciting way to have a goal to be working towards and for the students to feel a sense of achievement. The Pre Primary classes begin from the age of 4 years old and the children move up to the Primary level class when they are roughly 5.5/6 years old.

Our Creative Contemporary Classes

This new class for Autumn 2021 is both engaging, creative and fun. The class takes the basic movement principles of Contemporary dance and balances technical learning with creativity. By allowing imagination and imagery to lead us, and discovering the unique ways in which each individual enjoys moving. The dancers will learn how to show technical understanding when needed and how to let this go and find freedom when desired. By utilising the lack of inhibition children tend to inhabit, they are given the space to explore their personalities whilst connecting with others and learning to create a supportive space. The dancers will be guided through how to move safely on the floor, the basic foundations of Contemporary technique, how to embody different dynamics/sensations, how to voice their ideas and how to start to structure their own movement.
